NaNo, I've missed Thee

I've got some history with Nano, or National Novel Writing Month, a challenge to write a 50k word story in 30 days. I've participated 5 times, failed my first one with only half the words, then won 4 times. I've skipped some years, like I did in 2020 because I've realized I can become an ass hole when I push myself to write so much. I have put off so much home stuff to complete it that my wife understandably hated it (and probably me).

I have ended up with 4 very rough first drafts, although one I didn't actually complete. Old School Evil was my first victory, followed by Old School Evil 2, which is in the critiquing process, and 2 spin-off novels.

I've decided this year to try it again and get Old School Evil 3 started. I realized I've made most of my writing progress on all of my victories at work and now that I'm back at my old job, I'm going to take advantage of it. I've got a few ideas for the story this time but no outline. I think I do my best writing when I just let the words flow.

I am worried about this year because we just decided to have my mom come out to visit and there's a lot of work that needs to happen before she gets here. But with a little Energon and a lot of luck, I'll have a winner's certificate on here on November 30th.
