My name is Brian Cave and I'm the writer of Old School Evil.
As far back as I can remember, I've loved cartoons. I grew up in the 80's when shows like He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and Go-Bots dominated Saturday mornings and weekday afternoons. There wasn't a day that you wouldn't find me glued to my television set and those great celluloid shows weren't blaring in my face.
As I grew up, I stuck with my shows and the various incarnations that grew up with me. But I still went back to the originals, riding that wave of nostalgia that has brought in new generations of viewers. As some of the cartoons gained mainstream appeal, like Transformers and GI Joe getting live-action, big budget movies along with the onslaught of new comics, I stayed true to their roots, collecting the originals whenever I could.
As I approach my 40s, I still enjoy rewatching the classics and learning about the process it took to make them. I know some of the cartoons haven't aged well, and I look at them as the toy commercials they were, but there's something endearing about the ridiculous stories and colorful characters that I just can't let go of.
I decided to write Old School Evil because I wanted share my love of my childhood favorites. I also wanted a place to keep track of my progress as I add to those cherished memories with some original cartoons and an engaging story that pays homage to them with a satirical eye.
