Genius InQ

Following up on my last post with the Citizen Robo insignia, we've got a new one for another cartoon idea I call Genius InQ. InQ of course means incorporated but I wanted to highlight the IQ in it as if Genius wasn't enough of a sign that we're dealing with some smart people.

The Geniuses here are three super-intelligent kids that, when they work together, can build anything. Hiro, Tito, and Rico each have their own specialty - electronics, programming, and mechanics - all work for the titular Genius InQ, a think tank that creates all sorts of things to benefit humankind. The person in charge of the corporation is Chairman Brain, a businessman who's as nice to the kids as he is to the world. At least, in the public eye, but behind the scenes, he's trying to steal the designs and devices to sell to the highest bidder.

I said Citizen Robo was partially inspired by Inspector Gadget, but Genius InQ is 100% born from the clumsy detective. The kids themselves are always blind to the Chairman's antics, but still ruin his plans by accident. They do have some help though in the form of Mama, a computer nanny who can't work directly against Brain's plans, but can point the kids in that direction. Brain also has an army of hapless agents who can never do their job right.

Besides creating this logo last week, I've also been writing up an article for the Retro Network. It's the start of a new series called Cel to Silver and it's about finding the episode of a cartoon series that would best adapt to a full-length movie. The first post is about Transformers and I think it's a pretty good pitch. I created the logo for it yesterday and it turned out great.

I posted it to the Retro Network site yesterday and I'm hoping it'll be online this week. I really look forward to seeing the reaction to it. I originally intended for the series to be videos on YouTube, so if it gets a decent reaction, who knows, I might switch over to that too.

The last thing I've been working on this month is Old School Evil 3. I have a deadline at the end of this month to finish the first draft. I'm at about 17K words right now, and I think I have a pretty good chance of finishing by March 31st. I'm about to start a big scene that I'm pretty excited about, a big turning point for the story, so I can't wait to get into it.

Lastly, a bit of a personal thing, but tomorrow's my 13th wedding anniversary. Taking a break from the whole writing/design thing to celebrate, so I'd better get this posted. Thanks for checking it out.
