October Update
September was a big month here at WeeklyHero Productions. I had some big goals set for writing and the blog, so let's see how we did.
First, with the home release of Mutant Mayhem, I decided to repost all of my SepTMNTber reviews since they were all offline after switching to the new website. To get the most eyes on them, I needed to put them on The Retro Network, but since half of September was already gone, I split them up between there and my site. It was a mad rush to get them all updated for rerelease, but I got them all posted at each place in time.
It was awesome seeing them all online again, though I was a little disheartened by how little of a response it got on social media. Honestly, it's good me really considering dumping all my accounts and going media silent. I decided a few months ago to quit trying any kind of promotion, and considered SepTMNTber as one last ditch effort, and it's just reaffirming that I'm wasting my time.
The other goal I had for September was finishing the first draft of Old School Evil 3. I made some really great progress thought August and the first week or so in September, but something happened in that second week that totally wrecked my progress. I'm not entirely sure what it was. I was doing all my wiring at work, but I can't think of anything specific that made me stop.
I will admit after my writing dried up and the SepTMNTber posts floundered, I felt pretty down. I haven't really considered quitting everything before, but I'm almost there now. To be honest, as much as I love the process of writing and world-building, everything after can really suck. Editing can be a pain in the ass, but I do like fixing problems I find in the story. Creating a cover is kinda fun, but writing a blurb is a terrible experience. And don't get me started on formatting the book and publishing them in Amazon. That part can go to hell.
What I'm saying is that I don't know where to go from here. I want to keep writing my stories - I've got so much planned for Old School Evil. There are another 5 books I have in mind after Jayce's trilogy is over. I created 4 more cartoons during my writer's block that will show up in the last 2 books. I'm not going to give up on writing, I've done it by whole life and I can't stop now.
But everything beyond that? The publishing, marketing, promotion? I don't know.
