Old School Evil: The Rejects Turns 2!

Two years ago today, November 22, 2022, I released Old School Evil: The Rejects!

The sequel to my first novel, which follows Jayce as he learns to be a leader and his friends become a real team, took 4 years to finally be published, and I’m afraid that’s the reason why it didn't catch on. The Rejects never really succeeded, and even though I have continued to sell the first book sporadically, the sequel doesn’t get any love. But to commemorate its release, I am offering the ebook free from 11/22 through 11/26. If you haven’t read the first book, it’s listed permanently for $.99, so this is an easy way to pick up both books. If you do, please leave a review, it really helps.

October and November were pretty big months for me and Old School Evil! I updated the website with a list of articles I've written this year for Rediscover the 80s and for The Retro Network. I made it so I can update it easily when I post a new article as I did at the beginning of the month about Transformers comics. I promoted a giveaway during that article, but no one has signed up for it so far. It is kind of a bummer, but the prize was pretty small and had a very narrow audience. I’m glad I tried something new at least.

I still have another project I want to implement on the site to show off some of the villains of Old School Evil, so be on the lookout for it soon. I'm also making up a schedule to post more frequently on the blog here and on social media like BlueSky and Facebook (Instagram, not so much). I'm going back to my old Bad Guy Beatdown stories to post here and get some more writing samples online since the old blog’s posts are no longer available. Currently, my posting schedule will be:

First week of the month – New Rediscover the 80s article

Second week – Bad Guy Beatdown short story

Third week – New Retro Network article

Fourth week – Old School Evil blog update

My writing has unfortunately slowed a bit over the last few months. I generally do my writing during downtime at work and lately, it's been too busy there to devote to Old School Evil 3. I have been working on a short story to include in my Production Bible document that's available by subscribing to my newsletter. I’m hoping it might be a little more appealing to readers if it includes a story along with the background information. I also need to convert it to an ebook since I’m not happy with how to cover looks in a PDF. I’ll need to change the cover a bit to reflect both contents, but that’s no big deal. I still have no idea what I’ll put in my newsletter, but at least I will have one.
